Healthy Salmon Pumpkin Paw Treats

The ideal treat for your cat is ones that are not only healthy but tasty too! They contain salmon, pumpkin, oats, egg, and avocado oil.

Ever read the back of the majority of cat food? They don’t exactly have healthiest ingredients. We all just want the best for our pets and want to give them nutritious food that they like eating. So why not make some homemade cat treats and have some fun? These homemade cat snacks are a healthy and entertaining alternative to goodies from the supermarket because they are produced with ingredients that are acceptable for both cats and humans!

TOTAL TIME: 35 MINUTES

COOK TIME: 25 MINUTES
METHOD: BAKED

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 4oz can of salmon, no salt or oil added
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil

Directions:

  1. Turn the oven on to 325 F.
  2. Place the oats in a blender and process until it becomes fine as flour.
  3. Open the can of salmon and remove the extra liquid.
  4. Combine the salmon, pumpkin, avocado oil, oat flour, and mix thoroughly.
  5. Use a silicone paw mold and fill.
  6. Once oven is preheated, bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the mixture is solid.
  7. Let the dish cool before feeding it to your cat. Serve under supervision and, if necessary, cut food into smaller pieces. Keep in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.

Tips and Tricks

Use what your cat likes:

If you already know what your cat prefers, such as tuna or sardines to salmon? Go for it! It’s an easy swap that will work.

Smaller Pieces:
