Birthday Tuna Shrimp Cake

Why Make Your Cat A Birthday Cake?

Some might say it is silly but making your cat a cake for their birthday is a fun way to make them feel special and like a member of the family. If you’re like most cat-parent, your cat is pretty like your child... So why not go above and beyond on their special day to make your kitty feel extra loved? It will be a wonderful opportunity to bond and improve your relationship!

Other Fun Ways to Celebrate:

There are fun things you can do to commemorate your cat's birthday besides baking a handmade cake for them. Here are just a few of the numerous concepts!

1. Pick a Gift
A birthday party isn't complete without a present (or several). Giving your cat at least a tiny gift for their birthday, regardless of if it is a new toy, snacks, a bed to curl up in and take a cat nap or some exciting catnip!

2. Photoshoot
You probably have hundreds of pictures of your cat on your phone but planning a professional photo shoot for your cat's birthday is extra special. A little silly, sure, but it is fun! Hire a photographer or ask a friend who’s amazing at taking photos and who loves cats of course, to create some priceless moments.

3. Give Back
Making a birthday donation in the name of your cat to a nearby cat shelter is a wonderful idea! Put your money to good use and help out other kittens if they don’t have enough toys and snacks.

Celebrating your cat's birthday together is fun. Making a cat birthday cake is just one wonderful way to reward your cat while still keeping their health in mind.

Birthday Tuna Shrimp Cake

Ingredients

- 1 canned tuna
- 2 tbsp of all-purpose flour
- 1 egg white
- ½ tsp shredded cheddar cheese (optional if your cat has a low sodium diet)
- One shrimp without shell for garnishing

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mixed together in a medium bowl: Tuna, egg white, cheese, and flour.
3. Bake for 15 minutes after putting the mixture into a bake-able muffin cup or tin, like the one shown below.
4. Let cool before serving to your cat.
5. Add the shrimp on top as a garnish and let them enjoy!

Making Cats Safe Cake Frosting

Although cats can't have sugar in their frosting, it doesn't mean you can't add cat-friendly frosting decatrons to their cake! Many cat parents use mashed potatoes to make a "frosting". Put the mashed potatoes in a piping bag or a sandwich bag and cut one small corner off. Use it to decorate your cake much like genuine icing. You can use a tiny bit of food coloring to make it more festive.
